Network Event: Employers as part of a whole-of-society approach to domestic abuse

Event Details

  • Date: –
  • Venue: Ashurst LLP, London Fruit & Wool Exchange, 1 Duval Square, London E1 6PW

We were delighted to meet over 100 employers at our event, kindly hosted by Ashurst, discussing how employers can leverage their commitment to tackling domestic abuse beyond their own organisations – spreading positive change towards their customers, sectors, supply chains, and communities. Above all, we are amazed and inspired by the incredible work already being done.

  • A bank providing victim-survivors of domestic abuse with a flee fund to escape their abuser.
  • A local authority establishing Safe Spaces every 100 metres, and fund taxi marshalling for vulnerable people travelling alone.
  • A football club hosting healthy relationship courses for their young academy participants.
  • A large regional employer urging businesses in their supply chain to implement a domestic abuse response (and leading by example).
  • A law firm providing pro-bono legal support to victim-survivors of domestic abuse to help them secure protection orders.
A fire service safety-checking homes where victim-survivors may be at risk of arson attacks from their abuser. Organisations shared the many innovative and inspiring ways they are expanding their domestic abuse response beyond their employees – reaching their communities, customers, supply chains, and sectors.

And finally, congratulations to TSB Bank, who received their Everyone’s Business Platinum Award, presented by Patrick Ryan, the CEO Hestia Charity.
