First up, we are delighted to announce that the Home Office has become EIDA's latest Beacon member. You can read more below.
This week, we also have two important summaries for you to share with colleagues. The first is on the Baroness Casey Report into standards of behaviour and the internal culture of the Metropolitan Police Service. The second concerns the Government's announcement about tougher sentences for those convicted of murder where there is a history of coercive or controlling behaviour or where excessive violence is used: this announcement is an initial response to the Domestic Homicide Sentence Review conducted by Clare Wade KC. We encourage you to share these updates widely with colleagues. We're also excited to announce that we are hiring a Communications and Engagement Coordinator. Please do share this with your networks and we would love to hear from people interested in helping us spread our message, resources and practice to achieve our vision of every employer taking effective action on domestic abuse. Finally, we recently attended an event hosted by the H.O.P.E Consultancy who had been commissioned by the Drive Partnership to run a leadership programme for Black and Racially Minoritised colleagues working in the Violence Against Women and Girls sector. It's an impressive programme, designed to support people to build their leadership skills through group work and individual coaching sessions. We heard from those who had attended the initial 12 week programme; they were inspiring! A second programme is running from November and you can now register interest to attend. More information is available at: https://hopetraining.co.uk/leadership-programme/. Please read on .... |
