EIDA membership has grown to nearly 2000 employers! To celebrate, we will be gifting a free Lunch & Learn awareness-raising session (can be delivered online or in-person) to the employer that becomes our 2000th member. Our Lunch & Learn sessions cover the key aspects of what domestic abuse is, why it is a workplace issue, spotting the signs, and how employers can respond to protect their people. They are an excellent starting point to raise awareness of domestic abuse among employees. Read more here.

This month, the EIDA Ambassadors gathered for an excellent engagement day at our Beacon member, Hogan Lovells' offices, focused on storytelling and the power of survivor voices. We are incredibly grateful to our group of 14 Ambassadors who use their experiences to raise awareness and protect others, and to the Hogan Lovells team for facilitating the workshop. Ambassador David Challen recently published this book about his experience of growing up in a household dominated by his father's domestic abuse and coercive control. We recommend this impactful read for a greater understanding of the widespread impact of domestic abuse on entire families.

Call to action: We need more employers to respond to our member survey before 30 June. The data we gather from this survey will enable us to support UK employers to take effective action on domestic abuse and protect their employees. Please take 10 minutes to complete our EIDA member survey, which EIDA's main contacts received in a separate mailing yesterday. A big thank you to those who have completed the survey.

Best wishes

Network event summary: The impact of tech-enabled abuse on your people and your organisation - Insights for employers

Perpetrators of domestic abuse are increasingly utilising technology as a tool of power and control. Everyday devices such as AirTags and SmartTags, phone location tracking, and GPS devices are increasingly being used to monitor and control victim-survivors’ movements.

Employers should be aware of emerging forms of tech-enabled abuse, which may affect their employees. While employers may not be experts in tech-enabled abuse, they can signpost to specialist support, including professionals that can sweep households and vehicles for spy- and stalkerware. This summary provides insights into current trends  in-enabled abuse, and practical guidance for how employers can respond.

Insight Hour on 8 July: How employers can support male victim-survivors of domestic abuse

Domestic abuse can happen to anyone. One in seven men in the UK experience domestic abuse in their lifetime, yet male victim-survivors often face unique barriers to accessing support. In this Insight Hour webinar, we will discuss the crucial role employers can play in creating safe, supportive workplaces for men experiencing domestic abuse - including offering appropriate resources and fostering a culture of empathy and inclusivity.

We will hear perspectives from male victim-survivors, insights from expert services, and share practical guidance for employers, who can become part of a growing movement to break the silence around male victim-survivors.
