What does your job at EIDA involve?
I lead on EIDA’s governance, people, operations and finances; the cogs and wheels of the organisation. I also have responsibility for driving individual projects as well as our monitoring and evaluation.
What were you doing in the few years before you joined EIDA?
I was working at the What Works Centre for homelessness, the Centre for Homelessness Impact, helping to build the charity and supporting the CEO through a period of growth. My experience there taught me much about evidence and impact.
What inspired you to take up your current role?
I love the niche that EIDA occupies; ideally placed to convene, curate and share so many positive practices amongst employers, with the power to transform lives.
Why do you think it is important that employers tackle domestic abuse?
As the testimonies of our amazing Ambassadors indicate, a positive and informed employer response can have a huge impact on a survivor of domestic abuse. This alone is enough of a reason for employers to step up, but we also need employers to contribute to building a society where this behaviour is not tolerated.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
Hanging out with my family and friends and running – city streets, parks, countryside trails, anywhere really. I’m also diligently trying to be a better swimmer and cyclist.
Tell us something about you that few people know.
I speak Japanese and love a bit of Japanese karaoke.
