Darryl Matthews joins EIDA as an Ambassador

The Employers’ Initiative on Domestic Abuse (EIDA) is delighted to welcome Darryl Matthews to our group of Ambassadors. Darryl has previously shared his experience of domestic abuse and his employer’s response in a case study jointly with his then-employer, TSB bank. EIDA members can log in to read this case study in our Resource library.

“For years I told myself that domestic abuse couldn’t be happening to me. I’m a man with a good career, which didn’t fit the picture I had of a domestic abuse victim. I am joining EIDA as an Ambassador to raise awareness of domestic abuse among employers, especially of male victim-survivors who may not see themselves represented in common narratives around domestic abuse. I hope that by sharing my experience, I can help others to break free of abuse.” – Darryl Matthews

“We are very pleased to welcome Darryl to our wonderful group of Ambassadors. EIDA’s Ambassadors are at the heart of all our work, and we are grateful to Darryl for using his experience of domestic abuse to raise awareness and help protect others.” – Susan Bright, CEO of EIDA

EIDA’s Ambassadors are courageous survivors of domestic abuse who use their experiences to raise awareness and champion change. Their insights inform all EIDA’s work with employers, and they often join our awareness-raising Lunch & Learn sessions. We are grateful to all our present and former Ambassadors for their many valuable contributions to EIDA’s mission. You can read more about them here.
