Coercive control is an insidious form of domestic abuse that too often goes unrecognised. We discussed the various forms coercive control can take, how to spot the signs and the best ways employers can support those experiencing it.

Speakers included:

- Emily Fei, Chief of Staff at the Domestic Abuse Commissioner's office, who outlined the extent and impact of coercive and controlling behaviour.

- Lioness Tamar, Founder of The Lioness Circle, who outlined how coercive control impacts people from African and Caribbean backgrounds differently, highlighting how employers can support employees.

- Lorna Gavin, Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Gowling WLG, who shared her powerful story of surviving coercive domestic abuse, highlighting that it really can happen to anyone.

Leading domestic abuse charity, Hestia, also announced the winners of this year’s Everyone’s Business Awards.

This event was held in person at Portcullis House in London as well as live-streamed.
