EIDA is delighted to announce the launch of its Strategic Partner programme. The EIDA Strategic Partner Programme is a new membership tier for employers that sits between our premium “Beacon” membership and basic membership.

The EIDA Strategic Partner programme gives employers the opportunity to show their commitment to our work by providing financial support towards our core costs and helping us to extend our reach to smaller employers across the UK. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) account for around three-fifths of employment in the UK private sector, but we hear regularly of the challenges posed by a lack of resources and funding, preventing many SMEs from taking steps to support employees impacted by domestic abuse.

Today, EIDA welcomes our four founding Strategic Partners, the UK’s leading Insurance, Wealth & Retirement business, Aviva; telecommunications company Virgin Media O2; the Business Improvement District (BID) Fleet Street Quarter; and the prestigious law firm and longstanding supporter, Slaughter and May.

EIDA CEO, Susan Bright, welcomes the four employers and invites other organisations to join the new membership tier.

“We are delighted to announce the launch of our Strategic Partner Programme. Our Strategic Partners are employers that are taking on a leadership role in tackling domestic abuse. Not only are they implementing their own effective workplace responses to domestic abuse, they are also taking an active role in sharing their experiences and learnings with others. Together with our Beacon members, their support enables EIDA to develop new resources and to keep our resources and events free and accessible to smaller organisations across the UK. The scale of domestic abuse in the UK demands that every part of our society rises to this challenge. We are here to support employers to provide an effective response. Please join us!”

"EIDA’s work is incredibly important in educating people on the effect of domestic abuse. We are pleased to continue working with them as part of their new Strategic Partnership programme to raise awareness of domestic abuse." – Slaughter and May

"VMO2’s Women’s Network are leading a company-wide initiative to expand our internal support for victims and their families of Domestic Abuse. We also intend to outline what Domestic Abuse looks like today helping perpetrators recognise unacceptable behaviour. In working with EIDA and their partners we can expand on our resources and support." - Virgin Media O2

“Fleet Street Quarter BID are enormously proud to be a founding Strategic Partner of EIDA. As a Business Improvement District, representing over 350 businesses in the western side of the City of London, we are encouraging the businesses we support, both large and small, to implement best practice domestic abuse policies developed by EIDA to safeguard workforces. By allowing conversation and change within the workplace to happen, we can help tackle this nationwide epidemic affecting 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men. The time to act is now and we would advise businesses to consider their internal policies, utilising the fantastic support of EIDA". - Lady Lucy French OBE, CEO, Fleet Street Quarter BID
