EIDA has launched a new, completely free e-learning resource, designed specifically to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) build an effective workplace response to domestic abuse. This e-learning resource is available to every organisation in the UK, whether they are a member of EIDA or not. We also warmly encourage larger employers to share it with SMEs in your community or supply chain who may benefit.

Why we created this resource

Domestic abuse affects millions of people, including members of your workforce. SMEs have told us they want clearer guidance, practical tools, and a simple, manageable way to take action. This new e-learning resource does exactly that.

Developed with support from the City of London Corporation (an EIDA Beacon Member), the module provides a step-by-step guide to help recognise the signs of domestic abuse, respond safely and confidently, and put the right support in place for employees.

No prior knowledge is needed, just a commitment to making your workplace a safer place for everyone.

Access the e-learning here.

What you'll gain

By completing the e-learning, you will:

  • Understand how to Recognise, Respond and Refer safely and appropriately
  • Learn your legal and ethical responsibilities as an employer
  • Follow a clear, structured approach to building your domestic abuse response
  • Learn how to raise awareness and embed your approach into daily practice
  • Feel confident that you are taking meaningful, effective action

The module takes around 60–90 minutes to complete in full. We recommend you refer to it as you go along and develop your response. Please note this is not domestic abuse training, but a step by step guide for SMEs to develop and implement an effective domestic abuse response. If you would like further details of specific domestic abuse training, please let us know.
